The cool new Bizdojo space in Takapuna

Client brief:

Stingray Bay Farms Ltd, the owner of 33-45 Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, had undertaken a project to overhaul the top two floors of their commercial office space, ready for new tenant, BizDojo. While in a prime location with amazing views out over Rangitoto, the upper floors were less than practical. Wiltshire Property Group redesigned the building, maximising the views with two storey glass panels and requested our help to undertake a stylish refit of levels 3 and 4.

Solution:

Ben Wiltshire, a director of Wiltshire Property Group who oversaw the project, said Jacksons came recommended by a respected source. “We wanted some fairness in terms of the pricing – someone to undertake the design, manage the tender process and who had the skills to retain and make best use of the existing central air conditioning systems”.

Jacksons was engaged to undertake the design work, oversee the tender process and come up with an overall strategy for the installation of new HVAC services in keeping with the upmarket fit-out. This was achieved by converting the existing VAV air-based system into an outside air supply to support new exposed fan coil units (FCUs).

The look of the interior is funky modern-industrial with exposed services, and a lot of effort went into making sure all the fan coil units, pipework and ductwork looked attractive – an area which rarely get much attention as it is usually hidden above the ceilings. New LED lighting highlights the work to good effect!

Result:

Everyone agrees that the semi-industrial look of the building interior makes for a really cool shared office environment, matching the wow factor of the amazing outlook. We’ll go a step further and say the exposed services and aircon look great, too! The project was very successful and the team have been re-engaged for future work.

A big thanks to Ben and Wiltshire Property Group – we’ve really enjoyed this project.
